Keep a usable media provenance record
A downloadable file is not automatically reusable.
Prepare
Save the original source URL, creator, license statement, and date accessed. If a license requires attribution, write the attribution while selecting the asset so it is not lost during export. Keep a copy of the relevant terms where your workflow permits.
Work through the decision
Separate your own media from third-party material. A search provider’s download link is a delivery mechanism, not a license grant. When terms are unclear, use another source or obtain permission before publishing.
Review the result
Before release, review the provenance for every third-party asset, including music. Make sure the intended use and attribution match the project. Keep the record with the project revision used for the final export.
